The Founding Directress, Dr. Eva M. Fajardo, received two big things in 2009. One, her doctorate degree, and two, word from the Lord that the More Than Conquerors Fellowship Church will open a school, with the aim of raising might generations.
This news broached before the congregation. Following prayers for guidance, the first circle of the Board of Trustees was formed by the members of the MTCF Board of Elders. Seed money was generously given by Dr. Joel Castro of Clinica Viras through the efforts of former Senior Pastor Candido A. Yanga. A three-person team met almost daily: Dr. Fajardo with the directions and guidance; Atty. Arni R. Topico, of Topico Law Office, shed light on legal matters on the processes involved in establishing a school; and Shirley Ll. Zenarosa, an author/editor and a member of the congregation, was tasked to conduct research and develop the CLARION’s philosophies and curriculum, design the school uniforms, and handle the filing of paperwork at the Securities and Exchange Commission. She secured “The CLARION School,” instead of “Trumpet to the Nations International School,” the handle that was first suggested. Arthur V. Doctolero, an engineer by discipline and MTCF’s in-house graphics artist, conceptualized classroom design and oversaw the manufacture of anthropometrically-correct equipment, including the multiple-intelligence inspired puzzle tables. He also collaborated with John Daniel S. Rotap, a graduate of the UST Conservatory of Music in making “The CLARION Sound,” the school’s alma mater song. Procurement of supplies and equipment was processed by Elsie S. Francisco, MTCF’s Secretariat and School Cashier.
The school opened in June 2010 with three teachers, three classrooms, and 20 enrollees in preschool. It received its permit to operate this same year. The following year, 2011, broke new ground:
By 2012-2013, the initial enrolment figure has tripled: 66 Champions were received, with slots opened for Grade 2. In December 2012, Mrs. Imelda G. Cajusay, formerly an EPS of the City Schools Division of Malolos, came to join CLARION as new principal. The next schoolyear, 2013-2014, saw more pupils (82 enrollees) as well as developments: the acquisition of WiKAHON, the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement with Pru Life UK for the Cha Ching Basic Financial Literacy Curriculum for Grades 2 and 3, making CLARION the first school in the province with this program. The approval of the permit to operate a complete elementary school was released, and the school’s annual Christmas musical became a two-day advocacy activity. As Schoolyear 2013-2014 ended, Mrs. Cajusay bowed out for health reasons, and was replaced by Mrs. Myrna Y. Salvador.
